Our Mission

CheckEverything.at is an independent guide for Austrian consumers. We translate complex topics into something you can actually decide on — insurance, loans, electricity and gas tariffs, tires. We do not recommend products blindly: every recommendation has to stand up to a verifiable source, and any advertising content is clearly labelled.

Who We Are

Media owner and publisher is Yasin Baytürk; the full legal disclosure under § 25 Austrian Media Act (MedienG) and § 5 E-Commerce Act (ECG) is on the Imprint page. Content is researched and written by the CheckEverything.at editorial desk; editorial responsibility rests with Yasin Baytürk.

CheckEverything.at is a guide, not a comparison portal. We link to selected comparison and brokerage platforms but do not run our own tariff-comparison database. The comparison itself is performed by third parties; our work is research, context and a guide that you can actually read.

Our Editorial Principles

Independence

We are not tied to any provider. Affiliate commissions do not influence our editorial assessment.

Transparency

Affiliate links carry rel='sponsored'. Advertising disclosure is visible in articles and on the imprint.

Timeliness

Every guide carries a visible 'Last updated' stamp. We refresh content at least annually and after material legal or tariff changes.

Verifiability

Claims about tariffs, laws or statistics are linked to a publicly verifiable source — primarily Austrian Tier-1 institutions.

Sources We Cite

Our guides draw primarily on Austrian Tier-1 sources — legislators, regulators and established consumer and mobility organisations:

  • AK — Arbeiterkammer (Austrian Chamber of Labour, arbeiterkammer.at)
  • FMA — Financial Market Authority (fma.gv.at)
  • OeNB — Austrian National Bank (oenb.at)
  • E-Control — energy regulator (e-control.at)
  • Statistik Austria — official statistics (statistik.at)
  • ÖAMTC & ARBÖ — mobility clubs
  • KFV — Austrian Road Safety Board (kfv.at)
  • RIS — Federal Legal Information System (ris.bka.gv.at)

Concrete references to these sources appear in the guides on Insurance, Loans, Energy and Tires.

Advertising Disclosure & Affiliate Programme

CheckEverything.at is funded by advertising and affiliate partnerships. If you follow one of our links to a provider and sign a contract there, CheckEverything.at may receive a commission — this does not result in any additional cost for you and the tariff at the provider is identical to a direct signup.

Affiliate links carry the HTML attribute rel="sponsored" or rel="noopener sponsored", are recognisable as advertising in the text and do not influence our editorial assessment. The partners we currently work with are listed in individual guides and in our Privacy Policy.

We do not sell editorial placements. Sponsored articles or advertorials, where present, are explicitly marked "Advertisement" or "In cooperation with".

How We Work

  • Research first: every guide starts by reviewing the relevant Austrian sources (see the list above).
  • Concrete over generic: amounts, deadlines and statutory sections are quoted with an "as-of" date.
  • Visible timestamp: every article shows the date of its last review.
  • Corrections welcome: correction notices are reviewed promptly, and substantiated corrections are transparently logged in the article.

Topics We Cover

  • Insurance — car, household, life, health, legal protection and more
  • Loans — instalment loan, online loan, micro-loan, mortgage, KSV topics
  • Energy — electricity and gas tariffs, switching, E-Control basics
  • Finance — building savings, accounts, saving
  • Tires & Mobility — Austrian tread requirements, summer/winter tires, wheels, motor oil
