Editorial Policy

CheckEverything.at is an independent guide portal for Austria. This page describes how we research, write, and correct errors. As of July 6, 2026.

Our Mission

We explain how insurance, loans, energy, and tyres actually work in Austria — clearly, source-based, and without sales pressure. CheckEverything.at is a guide, not a comparison portal.

1. Who We Are

CheckEverything.at is an editorial information portal focused on the Austrian market. We create guides, explanations, and decision aids on insurance, finance, energy, and auto/mobility topics.

Important: We are not a comparison portal and do not run automated tariff calculators with live prices. Instead, we explain concepts, put regulations into context, and, where concluding a contract makes sense, transparently refer readers to vetted partner companies.

2. Editorial Independence

2.1 Separation of Content and Advertising

  • Editorial content is created independently of commercial interests
  • Affiliate partnerships do not influence the selection or assessment of topics
  • Advertising content and affiliate links are clearly identified as such

2.2 No Paid Rankings

We avoid phrases like "best provider" or "test winner" unless backed by a traceable, independent methodology. Instead, we objectively explain which factors matter in a decision and leave the concrete provider choice to our readers.

3. Quality Standards

3.1 Research and Fact-Checking

  • All figures and regulations come from verifiable, official sources
  • We prefer Austrian authorities and institutions: the Financial Market Authority (FMA), the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB), E-Control, the Austrian Chamber of Labour (Arbeiterkammer, AK), and the federal legal information system (RIS)
  • Statistics and legal references are linked to their source where possible
  • Content is regularly reviewed for accuracy

3.2 Transparency in Case of Uncertainty

When information changes frequently (e.g. interest rates, premiums, energy prices, or subsidies), we say so explicitly and recommend verification directly with the provider or the responsible authority.

4. Content Boundaries

4.1 What We Offer

  • Explanations: How do certain products or concepts work?
  • Decision aids: What factors matter in a choice?
  • Market overviews: What options generally exist in Austria?
  • Vetted references: Where can I reliably conclude a contract?

4.2 What We Do Not Offer

  • No advice: We do not replace individual financial, legal, or insurance advice
  • No live tariff calculators: We do not calculate individual premiums or loan instalments ourselves
  • No paid rankings: We do not sell grades or "test winner" seals
  • No guarantees: All information is provided without warranty; prices and terms can change

5. Content Updates

We strive to keep content current. For time-sensitive information (interest rates, energy prices, legal changes), we always recommend checking with the provider or an official body such as FMA, OeNB, E-Control, or AK.

6. Corrections

If you find an error in our content, please contact us at info@checkeverything.at. We review reported errors promptly and correct them once the facts are confirmed.
